We Made a Magazine!
We'd been talking about this forever, but finally - just a couple of months ago - we decided to put together a first issue/prototype/one-and-done or maybe first-of-many issues of Hornmag. Rather than try and be all things to everyone, the magazine's mission is easily summed up: to celebrate the diversity, talent, and influence of Texan creatives. From designers, artists, musicians, to actors, writers, and more - along with a healthy does of Texas-inspired fashion.
With no advertising pages, and editorial content from start to finish, issue 1 is definitely a working prototype. We'd love to see it be a 200-plus page magazine of ads and editorial one day, but for the premiere issue, we perfectly hit our target of 56 pages plus cover. The cover stock is a heavier, high gloss 110lb paper, and the interior pages are on bright white 100lb. If we make issue 2 and page count goes up, we might consider different stock depending on cost.
None of this would have been possible without the enormously talented writers, stylists, photographers, and others who all played a part in putting it together. Those include Joey Berlin, Sarah Thurmond, Kelli Ponce, Cody Le Pors, Matt Wright-Steel, Phil Kline, Nicole Berlin, Peyton Fishbeck, Peter Walton, and many more.
For now, you can order a print copy by emailing me here, or you can read the entire issue online here. Obviously we're gonna be posting about this forever until both our regular readers of this blog are tired of seeing it (hello, Mother and K).
