A year or so ago, we embarked on a redesign of The Absolute Sound's front cover. The goal was to make a cover that was more artistic, cleaner, focused on beautiful product photography, and with minimal typography. The reason for this was a renewed focus on subscription based readers, who make up the vast majority of the magazine's buyers. There was no longer a need to make the magazine's cover designs to compete with other magazine's on newsstand

Utilizing a mixture on in-house photography, provided images, and one illustration by Ian Keltie, we've created a solid, instantly recognizable look and feel for the magazine, which strengthens it's brand, and emphasizes the editorial focus on detailed, in-depth product reviews targeting committed high-end audiophiles.
